Ground Broken at The Barrel Yard

Site clearance works have now started at The Barrel Yard, Forshaw’s latest development forming the second phase of the award-winning Queen’s Brewery scheme.

Barrel Yard provides a variety of options for residents including 17 townhouses of 3-4 bedrooms and 25 apartments of 1-3 bedrooms. The development offers attractive, sustainable homes for those who want to live close to the city centre but desire a quiet, secure environment. The communal area, private courtyards, private and shared parking spaces ensure compliance with the required amount of amenity space: each townhouse has a front and rear garden with private parking space, while for the apartment block there is a communal garden and car park.

The existing building, Hydes Brewery which sits adjacent to Barrel Yard has directly influenced the design and development of the scheme. Attention has been paid to the use of similar materials matching the original brick work. The homes are arranged around an organic environment to avoid repetition allowing for perspective to constantly change. The interior specification of the houses and apartments is to a high and modern standard.

Already more than 80% sold, there are a few remaining units available for reservation, contact us for further information or download the brochure at the following link.

Ancoats Named ‘Hippest’ Place In The UK By Travel Website – And They’re Right – Lovin Manchester

Seems like the rest of the World is waking up to what Ancoats has to offer, an oasis of calm on the edge of the best City to live within the UK (not just our opinion, check The Economist’s Intelligence Unit Global Liveability Survey for 2015 and 2016). Ancoats is becoming a destination in its own right and referenced in the San Francisco Chronicle as being a ‘must-see’ for visitors to Manchester.

Shoreditch move over – and Camden be damned. There’s a new hipster capital in the UK – and it’s in Manchester.

We’d already switched on to the attraction of Ancoats in 2014 when we acquired the buildings on George Leigh St that would become Alumni. Forming 20 apartments from the conversion of the former St Michael’s School and a new block on the site of the old Two Terriers Public House. Each apartment has been carefully designed to offer the best of the space available, high-ceilings, mezzanines and unique spaces in the conversion and generous, well-specified apartments in the modern addition.

The last few apartments remain available at Alumni, with 2 and 3 bedroom apartments available from £300,000 and a stunning 3 bedroom duplex with attic terrace available at £495,000.

Bardsley to Construct Halo Apartments

Forshaw are delighted to confirm that Bardsley Construction have been appointed as contractor on our Halo Apartments development in Manchester City centre. Following a two-stage tender process, two contractors were selected to progress to the second stage from the initial bids received. Having worked closely with them throughout the tender process and technical design stage we were impressed by both Contractor’s approach to collaborative working and input into the scheme. Ultimately however we selected Bardsley on the basis of their competitive pricing, programme planning and overall proposals and look forward to them delivering a successful project on our behalf.
